My first Tedx Talk: From Pain to Purpose – My TEDx Journey

August 30, 2025 – A date etched in my life for more than one reason. Exactly 11 years ago , I got engaged. And on that very same date this year, I received a life-changing opportunity: my first TEDx talk , hosted at GGI under the inspiring theme “Chase the Impossible.” Standing on that red dot, I felt a mix of emotions — excitement , nervousness , and the quiet ache of loss , having lost my wife, whose memories remain deeply rooted in my heart. In my talk, I shared a story born in the midst of COVID-19 — a time when Ms. Renu and I were both navigating personal grief in different ways. It was during this difficult phase that Mr. Chaitanya brought us together — blending Renu’s deep nutritional expertise with my technical background . That collaboration gave birth to a vision: A platform that could reduce the time it takes to create personalized diets , enabling dieticians to focus more on care, empathy, and connection — and patients to avoid long queues and delays. MSIgnite | The Tour: to ignite your mind

While I am still at Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport, Mumbai and have some time for my flight, I wanted to take this time to jot down and share my experience of attending MSIgnite | The Tour Mumbai.

It was an amazing tour where my wife and I attended the MSIgnite The Tour Mumbai 2019 event and we visited a couple of places in Mumbai.
I have been spreading awareness about the Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps and other Microsoft Technologies from more than a year now. I was a speaker at Global Azure Bootcamp Chandigarh in 2018 and 2019, spoke at Global Office 365 2018 and organized Azure Devops Community Launch Mohali 2018 but attending MSIgnite event was gigantic and fantastic experience. It's like at a single place you can learn a lot, can meet the experts, do the networking, have lot of fun and get inspired.
Some of the key things that I learnt there is:

  1. AI, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing is at boom with no doubts.
  2. Microsoft provides a huge number of sources like Microsoft Learn Platform, Pluralsight courses of Microsoft Azure are free and other Microsoft Learning partners are there where one can learn.
  3. Microsoft has ease the job of making use of containers with Azure Kubernetes Service but beware it is costly.
  4. Provisioning of resources should be the part of CI\CD including the tasks that validates your template. This is huge and important. There was a complete track running i.e. OperatingApplications and Infrastructure in the cloud.
  5. I won't say use just Microsoft. The time has come where we should be approaching solutions with hybrid stacks. Use the one that suits your business case the best. Like Microsoft provides Managed Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Databricks which are making use of Open Source technologies like Kubernetes and Apache Spark respectively.
  6. Teams is being awesome especially with the features like finding what is important to you in a video meeting.
  7. Being a commandline junky will help. Use shell.azure.com as much as possible.
  8. VSCode extensions for Azure, Docker, Arm Templates will boost your productivity.
  9. Serverless is the future and the Serverless solutions with Azure functions can save drastically for you for they have the strong ability to scale as per the demand.
  10. Create solutions with Security In depth concepts.
  11. I'll share more but this is it for now and we enjoyed Juhu beach, Siddhivinayak Temple, Taraporewala Acquarium, Gateway of India and Elephanta Caves!
  12. Keep learning, keep enjoying :)
